Good morning, distinguished teachers! My name is Huang Dan, I am currently a senior student from Hunan University of Technology. Thank you for giving me the precious chance to stand here to share my design of the lesson which is in Unite two Model three of New Curriculum Standard with you. Thanks!

The content of my lesson is English and its history. I am going to talk about it from five parts and they are: Analysis of the teaching material, teaching objectives, key points and difficult points, teaching methods and teaching procedures.

Now I will introduce each part one by one:

The lesson type is reading. According to the New Curriculum Standard, reading is an important section to improve students’ skills of reading and their comprehensive ability. This period is focused on the topic of English and its history. It is very helpful for students to acquire the basic information about English and its history and to know the constant development of English, thus broadening their knowledge and deepening their learning of English itself and helping them to learn the fact that language is constantly changing.

Knowledge objective: Help students understand the general idea of the teaching material and make them grasp the knowledge effectively.

E.g. Let students know what is the article about, how English developed, and why it has some strange rules.

Ability objective: Cultivate students’ reading skills and comprehensive ability, and help them master the effective reading strategies.

E.g. Get students realize that noticing dates and years is very important in reading a
