Part 21 – Time History Earthquake for Collapse Analysis

Preparation

1) Under “Training Project”, create “Timehistory Earthquake” subdirectory

2) Under “Timehistory Earthquake”, Create “Foundation SE”, “Modes”, “Static Loads”, “TH Collapse” subdirectories.

3) Copy SACINP.STA, SEAINP.STA and PSIINP.DAT from “\Spectral Earthquake\Static SE” to “Foundation SE”;

4) Copy SACINP.STA and SEAINP.STA from “\Spectral Earthquake\Static SE” to “Static Loads”

Create Superelement under “Foundation SE” directory for Dynpac analysis

Modifying SEAINP.STA for create superelement only in this step. Delete load case EQKS from load case selection line and from load combinations.

The X and Y horizontal acceleration will be modified from 0.08 G to 0.16 G in load case GRVX and GRVY.

The modified portion of seastate file shall looks like this,

Create modal extraction under “Modes”

Copy SEAINP.DYN from “\Spectral Earthquake\Modes” to “Modes” directory. Create modal extraction run file solving 50 modes, using model file and super element file from “Foundation SE” directory.

Run Dynpac analysis.
